Stephen K. Levine, Ph.D., D.S.Sc., REAT, is Vice-Rector and Dean of the Doctoral Program in Expressive Arts: Therapy, Education, Consulting and Social Change at EGS, Professor Emeritus of Social Science and Social and Political Thought at York University in Toronto, and co-founder and co-director of ISIS-Canada in Toronto. A founder of IEATA (International Expressive Arts Therapy Association), he is the author of Poiesis: The Language of Psychology and the Speech of the Soul (Jessica Kingsley Publishers), co-editor of Foundations of Expressive Arts Therapy, co-author of Principles and Practice of Expressive Arts Therapy: Toward a Therapeutic Aesthetics , and editor of Poiesis: A Journal of the Arts and Communication.
His most recent book is, Song the Only Victory: Poetry Against War. Steve (aka "Max" the clown) is a poet, actor and long-time social activist.
